For the first time the Nomad Way meets the legends of the The Spirit of Tengri project: the Tuvan band Huun Huur Tu together with the American DJ Carmen Rizzo, Svjata Vatra band (Ukraine, Estonia) and Islam Satyrov (Stavropol krai, Russia).
Tuvan throat singing is a Huun Huur Tu's trademark, whose signature sound is known all over the world. The group fans note that the traditional Tuvan songs change the attitude in their performance. The team has existed for 25 years. Over the years, the band has made records and performed together with such outstanding musicians as Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Mickey Heart and Bob Weir (Greatful Dead), Shankar, Kronos Quartet and many others.
The Tuvan musicians have been cooperating with famous American DJ Carmen Rizzo for almost 10 years. In 2009, they released a joint album Eternal and conducted a tour of the US cities in its support. The idea belonged to the DJ. Carmen Rizzo has been nominated for the Grammy Award twice. "Hello to all from Los Angeles, California. My name is Carmen Rizzo. I invite you to the II International Nomad Way Travel Festival to be held in Astana in the beautiful Amphitheater on the Esil River embankment from June 22 to June 24. I will be performing with my dear friends from Huun Huur Tu band from Tuva as our joint project. We have already performed together in your beautiful country many times and we are very happy to return to Kazakhstan again - it's a great honor for us. We have written a few new songs and are pleased to present them to you at the Festival. Thank you and see you soon at the Nomad Way! " the famous DJ said.
Estonian and Ukrainian fire-folk band Svjata Vatra was formed in 2005. Until 2004, their leader is a trombonist and vocalist Ruslan Trochinsky played in the Ukrainian folk-rock band "Gaidamaky". The band performs folk music created from traditional songs, old children's games and Baltic melodies. The group successfully gives concerts in Estonia, France, Russia, Ukraine, Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Romania and the Netherlands.
"Salem, Kazakhstan! The name of our band Svjata Vatra is translated as" holy fire " that lives in our hearts. The style of our music is based on traditional melodies and songs of Ukraine and Estonia. In Svjata Vatra's music the south meets the north. At the Nomad Way 2018 in Astana we will present our new album Muutused / Zminy ("Changes"), let them be positive in our lives," Ruslan Trochinsky greeted the guests who are coming to the Nomad Way Festival.
The band leader added that it will be their first visit to Kazakhstan and Asia. The musicians are planning to get to know Kazakh culture, traditions, songs, rhythms and dances, enjoy the Kazakh national cuisine, try airan, kymyz, irimshik, beshbarmak, kuyrdak, Kazakh plov, manty, lagman and also visit Baiterek.
"We will start flames of love, friendship and joy in your hearts. But every flame needs a spark that lives in each of you, who comes to the Festival and discover Svjata Vatra, " the charismatic frontman added.
Also for the first time on the Nomad Way the Russian musician Islam Satyrov from the city of Mineralnye Vody of the Stavropolskiy Krai in Russia will perform. The musician will represent the distinctive culture of the Nogai ethnos - the ancient Turkic-speaking tribe with the richest history that originates in the Golden Horde. His work is greatly influenced by cooperation with the famous Nogai composer and singer Arslanbek Sultanbekov from Karachaevo-Cherkessia. Learning to play dombyra, Satirov accompanied Sultanbekov in his performances, and later they toured together. In the work of Islam Satyrov, ethnics and modern musical styles are synthesized in a unique way, European melodies are combined with traditional vocal styles and arrangements. The musician's songs are dedicated to the themes of history, patriotism and love. "I invite all residents of Astana and the whole Kazakhstan to the remarkable unique festival of nomadic music Nomad Way, which will be held on June 22-24 in the modern cultural capital of Kazakhstan. For the first time on this stage I will represent the musical culture of the Nogai people and folk music in modern arrangement. It will be very interesting. Please come "- the dombra player summed up.
